East Islip High School’s Emma Johnson and Lindsey Roses were among 18 Town of Islip students honored with Student Community Service Awards in an April 16 presentation held in the town boardroom in Islip. The award recognizes the achievements of students whose contributions to the community truly exemplify the meaning of selflessness. Each honoree should serve as a role model for others, inspiring compassion and service to others. Johnson was nominated by Nicole Ingram, while Roses was by Heather Toomey.
