East Islip HS Language Students Take Amazing Trip Abroad

  • East Islip juniors and seniors studying world languages took a trip abroad to Germany, Austria and Switzerland during the April break, chaperoned by Betty Muller, Barbara Huether, Kate Boucher, Victor Davis and Barbara Clareen. Students learned about the history and culture of these regions and ate authentic foods like wiener schnitzel and pastries such as apple strudel. Highlights included visits to Neuschwanstein Castle and the Dachau concentration camp in Munich and getting passports stamped in Liechtenstein. Students also participated in a waltz class, where they received a certificate of completion.

“This was a beautiful trip and one that will be embedded in our hearts and memories forever,” Muller said. “We thank the district for permitting us to embark on this amazing trip of a lifetime.”
